The TWECO 1160-1708 is a robotic contact tip from the Eliminator 16 Series, designed for MIG welding applications up to 200 amperes. Machined from copper alloy tubing, it features a consistent and smooth inside diameter surface that promotes stable arc performance and reliable wire feed. Unlike conventional threaded tips, this contact tip uses a patented cam-style connection that locks directly into the mating gas diffuser without threads. This design reduces downtime during tip changes and is suited for robotic and automated welding cells where fast, repeatable replacement is critical. Licensed welding technicians and robotic weld cell operators are the primary installers.
This contact tip is built for standard duty welding applications and fits within the TWECO Eliminator 16 Series gas diffuser system. It is appropriate for robotic MIG welding setups in light industrial and manufacturing environments where consistent tip geometry and reliable electrical contact are required. The 0.052 inch bore size targets common solid and flux-core wire diameters used in production welding. The sold-as-each unit format supports precise inventory management for high-volume operations.
Designed for use with the TWECO Eliminator 16 Series gas diffuser system in robotic MIG welding torch assemblies rated up to 200 amperes.
Installation is performed by qualified welding technicians or robotic weld cell maintenance personnel. Always power down the welding system and allow the torch to cool before replacing the contact tip. The cam-style connection requires proper seating into the mating gas diffuser — do not force or hammer the tip into place. Follow the torch manufacturer's service guidelines and applicable AWS safety standards during maintenance.
