The TWECO 1160-1705 is a tapered contact tip from the Eliminator Series, engineered for robotic and high-demand MIG welding applications. Designed to accommodate 0.035-inch wire, this patented tip delivers extended service life compared to standard contact tips. At 1.5 inches in length, it is purpose-built for Eliminator style MIG guns operating in the 250 to 650 amp range. Licensed welding technicians and industrial maintenance professionals install this tip as a front-end consumable during routine torch maintenance or when wire feed irregularities indicate tip wear.
This contact tip is suited for automated robotic MIG welding cells and heavy-duty manual MIG setups where high amperage and continuous duty cycles accelerate consumable wear. The Eliminator Series design addresses the shortened tip life common in high-amperage welding environments. It is sold individually (each) with a minimum order quantity of 25 units, making it practical for shop stock and fleet maintenance programs.
Designed for use with Tweco Eliminator style MIG guns rated 250 to 650 amps. Confirmed compatible with the Tweco Eliminator series robotic MIG gun platform as stated by the manufacturer.
Contact tip replacement is performed by welding technicians during torch servicing. Disconnect and de-energize the welding power source and allow the torch neck to cool completely before handling front-end consumables. Use the appropriate contact tip wrench to remove the spent tip and thread in the replacement by hand before applying a firm snug fit with a tool — do not overtighten. Verify wire liner condition and drive roll alignment any time a contact tip is replaced to prevent premature wear.
