The TWECO 1160-1427 is a threaded MIG welding contact tip designed for 0.052-inch wire with a 0.064-inch nominal inside diameter bore. Manufactured from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, it is machined to deliver a consistent, smooth inside diameter surface held to a tolerance of plus or minus 0.003 inches. The tip measures 1.5 inches in length with a 0.375-inch outside diameter and uses an M8 x 1.25-6g thread for positive engagement with compatible gas diffusers. It is rated for heavy-duty welding applications up to 600 amps. Licensed HVAC and welding professionals as well as industrial MIG welders install this tip as a direct consumable replacement on MIG guns in high-cycle production and fabrication environments.
This contact tip is suited for heavy-duty MIG welding operations in industrial, fabrication, and manufacturing settings where consistent wire feed and reliable electrical transfer are required. It supports continuous high-amperage work up to 600 amps, making it appropriate for structural steel, heavy plate, and repetitive production welding. Each tip is clearly marked with the part number and wire diameter for fast identification at the gun, reducing changeover time during production runs. The threaded design seats firmly against the gas diffuser to maintain shielding gas coverage and arc consistency throughout the weld cycle.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded contact tip for MIG guns compatible with M8 x 1.25-6g threaded contact tips rated for use up to 600 amps with 0.052-inch wire.
Contact tips are installed and serviced by qualified welding technicians or trade professionals familiar with MIG gun maintenance. Power down and disconnect the welding machine before removing or installing the contact tip. Use the appropriate tip wrench or pliers to avoid cross-threading the M8 thread into the gas diffuser. Inspect the gas diffuser and liner for wear or spatter buildup during each tip replacement to maintain consistent wire feed and shielding gas flow.
