The TWECO 1160-1183 is a robotic MIG contact tip engineered for heavy-duty welding applications up to 600 amps. Designed for 0.052 inch wire, it features a 0.058 inch nominal bore ID with an inside diameter tolerance held to plus or minus 0.003 inches, ensuring consistent wire feed and arc stability. The tip is machined from chrome zirconium 1815 alloy copper tubing, which is harder than standard copper alloy and delivers greater wear resistance and extended tip life. Each tip is marked with the part number and wire diameter for fast identification at the gun. Sold in a pack of 25.
This contact tip is suited for robotic and semi-automatic MIG welding setups running high-amperage cycles in industrial and manufacturing environments. The M8 x 1.25-6g threaded style ensures proper seating against a gas diffuser when installed in a compatible MIG gun. The 1.5 inch length and 0.375 inch OD fit standard robotic torch configurations where consistent electrical contact and surface finish are critical to weld quality and gun longevity. Applications include continuous-duty production welding up to 600 A where conventional contact tips fall short on wear life.
Designed as a robotic MIG contact tip replacement for MIG guns and torches using M8 x 1.25-6g threaded contact tips with 0.052 inch wire and a 1.5 inch tip length.
Contact tips are installed and serviced by welding technicians during routine MIG gun maintenance. Always power down the welding system and allow the gun to cool before replacing contact tips. Use the proper tip wrench to avoid cross-threading the M8 x 1.25-6g thread; hand-tighten first, then snug with a wrench without over-torquing. Confirm the tip is fully seated against the gas diffuser before resuming welding operations.
