The TWECO 1160-1180 is a robotic MIG welding contact tip rated for heavy-duty applications up to 600 amps. It is designed for 0.035-inch wire with a 0.041-inch nominal bore and a 1.5-inch overall length. The tip is machined from chrome zirconium 1815 alloy copper tubing, which is harder than standard copper alloy, delivering measurably better wear resistance and longer service life. The M8 x 1.25-6g threaded style ensures solid, consistent contact with the gas diffuser when installed in a MIG gun. Inside diameter tolerance is held to plus or minus 0.003 inches for a consistent, smooth bore surface. Sold in packs of 25, this tip is a direct solution for high-production robotic and manual MIG welding operations.
This contact tip is suited for industrial and fabrication environments where high-amperage MIG welding is performed continuously. Typical applications include robotic welding cells, structural fabrication, and heavy manufacturing where extended tip life and stable arc performance are priorities. The chrome zirconium alloy construction provides a meaningful performance advantage over conventional copper tips in high-duty-cycle scenarios. Each tip is marked with the part number and wire diameter for fast identification at the gun during changeover.
Designed as a robotic and heavy-duty MIG welding contact tip for use with 0.035-inch wire in MIG guns that accept an M8 x 1.25-6g threaded contact tip with a 0.375-inch OD.
Contact tips are installed and serviced by welding technicians. Always cut wire back and power down the welding system before replacing a contact tip. Use the correct wrench or tip tool to avoid cross-threading the M8 thread into the gas diffuser. Inspect the diffuser seating surface before installing a new tip to ensure proper electrical contact and gas flow.
