The TWECO 1160-1139 is a tapered contact tip designed for MIG welding guns, serving as the critical current-transfer point between the welding wire and the gun nozzle assembly. Machined from extruded or gun-drilled copper alloy tubing, it delivers consistent electrical conductivity and a smooth inside diameter surface. The inside diameter tolerance is held to plus or minus 0.003 inches, ensuring reliable wire feed and arc stability. This tip is rated for heavy-duty welding applications up to 200 amperes and is compatible with threaded and Eliminator twist-lock style gas diffusers. Each tip is marked with the part number and wire diameter for fast field identification.
This contact tip is intended for professional MIG welding applications where consistent wire-to-tip contact is critical. It suits both production and field welding environments handling 1/16-inch wire diameter. The tapered profile fits threaded-style and Eliminator twist-lock gas diffuser configurations, making it a versatile consumable for welders running compatible TWECO MIG gun setups. Licensed welding professionals and maintenance technicians performing structural, fabrication, or heavy-duty welding work will find this tip suited to demanding, high-amperage applications.
Designed for use with Eliminator style gas diffusers and threaded-style gas diffusers on compatible TWECO MIG gun series. Accepts 1/16-inch welding wire diameter.
Contact tip replacement is performed by licensed welders or qualified maintenance technicians. Always power down the welding machine and allow the gun to cool before removing or installing consumables. Hand-tighten threaded tips firmly to ensure full electrical contact with the gas diffuser — do not overtighten with tools, as this can damage the diffuser threads. Inspect the gas diffuser for spatter buildup before installing a new tip to maintain proper gas flow and arc quality.
