The TWECO 1160-1136 is a 16 Series heavy-duty tapered MIG contact tip designed for 0.040 inch wire diameter applications. Built from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy and machined from copper alloy tubing, it delivers consistent inside diameter surface finish held to a tolerance of plus or minus 0.003 inches. The tip measures 1.5 inches in length with an M8 x 1.25-6g thread size, a nominal inside diameter of 0.044 inches, and an outside diameter of 0.375 inches. Rated for welding applications up to 600 amps, this tip is installed by licensed welding professionals and maintenance trades on industrial MIG welding equipment.
This contact tip is suited for heavy-duty MIG welding in both production and fabrication environments. It is compatible with Tweco 350 to 600 amp Spray Master and Tweco No. 6 MIG guns, as well as specific Tweco MIG gun series. Its thick-walled design acts as a heat sink, drawing heat away from the arc source during high-amperage continuous welding. The tip features a twist-lock mechanism that secures it in place when installed into a gas diffuser. A quarter-turn clockwise rotation exposes a new wear point when the original wear surface is exhausted, effectively doubling service life. Each tip is individually marked with the part number and wire diameter for fast field identification. Sold as 25 per pack.
Compatible with Tweco 350 to 600 amp Spray Master MIG guns and Tweco No. 6 MIG guns, as well as specific Tweco MIG gun series requiring a threaded-style contact tip with M8 x 1.25-6g thread size for 0.040 inch wire.
Installation and replacement of MIG contact tips should be performed by a qualified welding technician. Always power down the welding system and allow the gun and tip to cool completely before removing or installing a contact tip. Thread the tip fully into the gas diffuser by hand, then engage the twist-lock mechanism to ensure proper electrical contact. Inspect the tip regularly for wear and rotate to the secondary wear point before replacing to maximize consumable life.
