The TWECO 1160-1135 is a 16 Series heavy-duty tapered MIG contact tip designed for 0.035 inch wire with a 0.044 inch nominal bore diameter and 1.5 inch length. Built from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy and machined from copper alloy tubing, it delivers a consistent, smooth inside diameter held to plus or minus 0.003 inch tolerance. The M8 x 1.25-6g threaded body ensures solid, repeatable contact with a gas diffuser on compatible MIG guns. Rated for welding applications up to 600 amps, this tip is sold in packs of 25 and is installed by professional welders and MIG gun technicians in heavy-duty industrial and fabrication environments.
The 1160-1135 is engineered for use with Tweco 350 to 600 amp Spray Master and Tweco No. 6 MIG guns, as well as select other Tweco MIG gun series. Its thick-walled copper alloy construction functions as a heat sink, drawing heat away from the arc source during sustained high-amperage spray transfer welding. The twist-lock design eliminates thread engagement concerns at installation. When the initial wear point is reached, a quarter-turn clockwise rotation exposes a fresh wear surface, effectively doubling usable tip life. Each tip is marked with part number and wire diameter for fast field identification without unpacking.
Designed for use with Tweco 350 to 600 amp Spray Master MIG guns and Tweco No. 6 MIG guns, as well as specific Tweco MIG gun series requiring an M8 x 1.25-6g threaded contact tip in 0.035 inch wire size.
Contact tips are installed and serviced by trained welders or MIG gun technicians. Always power down and de-energize the welding system before replacing consumables. Thread the tip into the gas diffuser hand-tight using the M8 x 1.25-6g thread engagement, then confirm the twist-lock seats properly. Do not overtighten, as this can distort the bore and impair wire feeding.
