The TWECO 1150-1260 is a 15 Series Heavy Duty Flux-Cored contact tip designed for MIG welding applications up to 500 amps. It accommodates 3/32-inch (0.093-inch) wire with a 0.106-inch nominal bore and measures 1.59 inches in length. Machined from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, the tip delivers a consistent, smooth inside diameter held to a tolerance of plus or minus 0.003 inches. The twist-lock design engages without threads for secure seating against the gas diffuser. A thick-walled construction acts as a heat sink, drawing heat away from the arc source. Sold in packs of 25, this tip is intended for installation by professional welders and MIG gun service technicians.
This contact tip is engineered for use in heavy-duty welding environments where sustained high-amperage output and consistent wire feeding are critical. It is compatible with 200 to 500 amp Tweco No. 5 MIG guns as well as specific Tweco MIG gun series. The tip ships with a 5/16-inch-18 UNC-2A thread profile and is compatible with both slip-on and thread-on nozzle styles. Each tip is stamped with the part number and wire diameter for fast, accurate identification during changeover. The twist-lock mechanism allows the tip to be rotated a quarter turn clockwise when the initial wear point is reached, exposing a fresh wear surface and effectively doubling service life.
Designed for use with 200 to 500 amp Tweco No. 5 MIG guns and compatible Tweco MIG gun series. Accepts slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles with a 5/16-inch-18 UNC-2A thread size.
Installation is performed by a qualified welder or MIG gun service technician. Power down and disconnect the welding machine before replacing the contact tip. Ensure the gas diffuser seating surface is clean and free of spatter before inserting the tip, as debris at the contact interface reduces electrical conductivity. Do not overtighten; the twist-lock design is designed to seat with hand pressure and a quarter turn.
