The TWECO 1150-1256 is a heavy-duty flux-cored contact tip designed for the Tweco 15 Series MIG gun platform. Built from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy and machined from copper alloy tubing, it delivers consistent inside diameter surface finish held to plus or minus 0.003 inches tolerance. The tip accommodates 0.062-inch (1/16-inch) wire with a 0.073-inch nominal bore ID and 0.345-inch OD. At 1.59 inches in length, it uses a 5/16-inch-18 UNC-2A thread and supports welding applications up to 500 amps. Licensed welding technicians and MIG gun operators install and replace this tip as a standard consumable in high-amperage wire-feed welding operations.
The 1150-1256 is suited for heavy-duty welding applications up to 500A, including flux-cored wire processes. It is designed for use with 200 to 500A Tweco No. 5 MIG guns and compatible Tweco MIG gun series that accept the 15 Series tip configuration. Its thick-walled construction acts as a heat sink, conducting heat away from the arc source during sustained high-amperage operation. The tip ships in a pack of 25, making it practical for shop inventory and field service kits.
Designed for use with 200 to 500A Tweco No. 5 MIG guns and Tweco MIG gun series that accept 15 Series heavy-duty flux-cored contact tips with 5/16-inch-18 UNC-2A thread style.
Contact tip replacement is performed by qualified welding technicians or MIG gun operators. Always power down the welder and allow the gun to cool before handling contact tips. Ensure the thread engagement with the gas diffuser is secure before resuming operation. Do not overtighten; thread-style tips seat by hand and lock via the twist mechanism.
