The TWECO 1150-1204 is a 15 Series heavy-duty MIG contact tip designed for wire feeders running 0.045-inch wire. It is machined from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, which produces a consistent, smooth inside diameter with a tolerance held to plus or minus 0.003 inches. The nominal inside diameter is 0.054 inches and the outside diameter is 0.345 inches. At 1.97 inches in length with a 5/16-18 UNC-2A thread, this tip is rated for heavy-duty welding applications up to 500 amps. It is sold in packs of 25 and installed by welders and MIG gun technicians servicing high-amperage wire welding equipment.
This contact tip is intended for use with 200-500 amp Tweco No. 5 MIG guns and compatible MIG gun series requiring a threaded-style contact tip. It fits applications where slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles are used. The tip works in heavy industrial and fabrication environments where sustained high-amperage output demands reliable current transfer and extended consumable life. The twist-lock design and dual wear-point feature make it well suited for production welding operations where downtime for tip changes must be minimized.
Designed for use with Tweco No. 5 MIG guns rated 200-500 amps and compatible MIG gun series accepting a 5/16-18 UNC-2A threaded contact tip for 0.045-inch wire diameter.
Contact tips are installed and serviced by qualified welders or MIG gun technicians. Always power down the welding machine and allow the gun to cool before replacing contact tips. Thread the tip in by hand until snug, then engage the twist-lock by rotating clockwise — do not use excessive force. Inspect the gas diffuser for wear or spatter buildup before installing a new tip, as a damaged diffuser will shorten tip life.
