The TWECO 1140-1432 is a robotic MIG contact tip engineered for heavy-duty welding applications rated up to 400 amps. Designed to accommodate 0.045-inch wire, this tip features a 0.051-inch nominal inside diameter bore and measures 1.47 inches in length. The tip is machined from chrome zirconium 1815 alloy copper tubing, which is harder than standard copper alloy material, delivering greater wear resistance and extended tip life. The inside diameter is held to a tolerance of plus or minus 0.003 inches, producing a consistent, smooth bore surface for stable arc performance. Sold in packs of 25.
This contact tip is suited for robotic and automated MIG welding systems operating in high-amperage, continuous-duty environments. The 1/4-inch-28 UNF-2A threaded style ensures positive engagement with a gas diffuser when installed to the MIG gun. Each tip is marked with the part number and wire diameter for fast identification during changeovers. Typical applications include fabrication shops, production welding lines, and any operation demanding higher tip durability than standard copper alloy tips can provide.
Designed for use with MIG guns that accept a 1/4-inch-28 UNF-2A threaded contact tip and accommodate 0.045-inch welding wire in robotic or standard heavy-duty welding setups.
Contact tip replacement is performed by qualified welding technicians or maintenance personnel. Always de-energize the welding power source and allow the gun to cool before handling consumables. Thread the tip into the gas diffuser by hand first, then snug with appropriate pliers or a tip wrench — do not overtighten. Inspect the gas diffuser for spatter buildup during each tip change to maintain shielding gas flow.
