The TWECO 1140-1301 is a 14 Series Standard Duty Tapered Contact Tip designed for MIG welding applications up to 400 amps. It accommodates 0.030-inch wire with a 0.038-inch nominal bore ID and measures 1.5 inches in length. Machined from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, it delivers a consistent, smooth inside diameter surface held to a tolerance of plus or minus 0.003 inches. The thick-walled design acts as a heat sink, conducting heat away from the arc source. Sold in packs of 25, this tip is a direct-use consumable for professional MIG welding operations.
This contact tip is suited for standard MIG welding in both production and repair environments. It is rated for use with 200 to 400 amp Tweco No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns, as well as compatible MIG gun series within that amp range. The 1/4-28 UNF-2A threaded style ensures proper seating against a gas diffuser. The tip accepts slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles and is compatible with standard copper-alloy diffuser configurations. Each tip is marked with the part number and wire diameter for quick identification during changeover.
Designed for use with 200 to 400 amp Tweco No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns, as well as compatible MIG gun series in that amperage range. Fits slip-on and thread-on nozzle configurations.
Installation is performed by a qualified welder or MIG gun technician. Power down and de-energize the MIG gun completely before replacing the contact tip. Thread the tip into the gas diffuser by hand and snug it with appropriate pliers — do not overtighten, as this can damage the diffuser threads. Ensure the nozzle is reinstalled and seated before resuming welding operations.
