The TWECO 1140-1203 is a heavy duty MIG welding contact tip rated for use up to 400 amps. Machined from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, it delivers consistent electrical conductivity and a smooth inside diameter surface with a tolerance held to plus or minus 0.003 inches. The nominal bore ID is 0.048 inches, sized for 0.035 inch wire. At 1.47 inches in length, the tip uses a 1/4 inch-28 UNF-2A threaded connection to seat properly against a gas diffuser. The thick-walled construction functions as a heat sink, drawing heat away from the arc and extending service life. This tip is installed by welding technicians and maintenance welders working in heavy industrial and fabrication environments.
This contact tip is designed for heavy duty MIG welding applications running up to 400 amps. It is compatible with Tweco No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns as well as specific MIG gun series within that amperage range. The tip works with slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles. When the wear point is reached, the tip can be twisted a quarter turn clockwise to expose a fresh wear point, effectively doubling the usable life of each tip. Each tip is marked with the part number and wire diameter for quick field identification. Sold in a pack of 25.
Compatible with Tweco No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns rated from 200 to 400 amps, as well as specific MIG gun series using 1/4 inch-28 UNF-2A threaded contact tips in slip-on or thread-on nozzle configurations.
Installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified welding technician with the power source fully shut down and the MIG gun cooled before handling consumables. Thread the contact tip into the gas diffuser by hand, then seat firmly without overtightening, which can damage the tip or diffuser threads. Verify wire diameter matches the bore size before resuming operation to prevent wire feeding issues and premature tip wear.
