The TWECO 1140-1127 is a 14 Series flux cored MIG contact tip designed for high-amperage wire feed welding applications. It features a 0.078-inch outer diameter and a 0.093-inch bore, sized to accommodate 5/64-inch flux cored wire. Rated for standard use at 350 amps, this tip handles the thermal demands of sustained flux cored welding on No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 TWECO MIG guns operating in the 200 to 400 amp range. Licensed welders and MIG welding technicians install this tip as a routine consumable during gun maintenance and tip changeouts.
This contact tip is suited for flux cored wire welding in both light industrial and heavy fabrication environments. It is compatible with gasless wire processes, making it a practical choice for self-shielded flux cored applications where external shielding gas is not used. Its interchangeable form factor allows use across multiple flux cored gun platforms beyond the TWECO line, reducing the need to stock multiple tip types when working with mixed equipment setups.
Compatible with TWECO No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns operating in the 200 to 400 amp range. Interchangeable with other leading flux cored gun platforms. Designed for use with all gasless flux cored wires.
Contact tip replacement is performed by MIG welding technicians as part of routine gun consumable maintenance. Power down the welder and allow the gun to cool fully before removing the worn tip. Use the appropriate tip wrench to seat the replacement tip firmly without overtightening, which can damage the diffuser threads. Follow the gun manufacturer's service guidelines and applicable ANSI welding safety standards during any gun disassembly.
