The TWECO 1140-1100 is a 14 Series standard-duty MIG contact tip designed for wire feed welding applications up to 400 amps. The tip is machined from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, delivering consistent inside diameter surface finish with a tolerance of +/- 0.003 inches. The bore is sized for 0.030 inch wire diameter, and the tip measures 1.5 inches in length with a 1/4 inch-28 UNF-2A threaded base. Threaded connection ensures solid contact with the gas diffuser. The thick-walled copper construction acts as a heat sink, drawing heat away from the arc. Each tip is marked with the part number and wire diameter for fast field identification. Sold in packs of 25.
This contact tip is suited for standard MIG welding operations in fabrication, manufacturing, and maintenance environments. It is compatible with 200 to 400 amp Tweco No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns, as well as specific Tweco MIG gun series. The tip supports both slip-on and thread-on nozzle configurations. A quarter-turn clockwise rotation of the tip when the initial wear point is reached exposes a new wear surface, effectively doubling usable tip life. This feature is particularly useful in high-production settings where minimizing consumable changeover time matters.
Compatible with 200 to 400 amp Tweco No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns, as well as specific Tweco MIG gun series. Fits both slip-on and thread-on nozzle styles.
Installation should be performed by a qualified welding technician with the welding machine powered down and the wire feeder disabled before handling consumables. Thread the contact tip finger-tight into the gas diffuser using the 1/4 inch-28 UNF-2A thread; do not overtighten, as this can restrict tip removal after use. Ensure the tip is fully seated to maintain proper electrical contact and shielding gas flow. Follow applicable AWS safety standards and the MIG gun manufacturer service guidelines during replacement.
