The TWECO 1048-1221 Eliminator MIG gun is a 450-amp, air-cooled welding gun designed for demanding production and maintenance welding environments. It accommodates wire diameters from 0.045 inches to 1/16 inch and ships with a 25-foot power cable engineered for reliable wire feedability. The conductor tube features a three-layer construction consisting of a copper tube, silicone resin fiberglass insulator, and a durable metal jacket, giving this gun above-average service life in high-cycle applications. Rated at 60% duty cycle with CO2 gas, the 1048-1221 supports spray transfer and pulse welding modes with straight CO2 or mixed shielding gases.
The 1048-1221 suits farm shops, production facilities, maintenance and repair operations, garages, and artistic metalworking. The articulating conductor tube swivels 360 degrees around the handle and can be removed and replaced without pulling the conduit, which reduces downtime on the floor. The rear connection uses a Tweco-style fitting, and the fully insulated Mig-Kwik connection allows quick connect and disconnect at the wire feeder. Front and rear spring strain relief with cable support reduces stress on the cable assembly during extended use.
Designed for use with Tweco-style wire feeders and rear connections. Compatible with spray transfer and pulse welding modes using straight CO2 or mixed shielding gases. Accepts standard Tweco Eliminator replacement consumables.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding technician or experienced operator familiar with MIG welding equipment. Disconnect power to the wire feeder before connecting or disconnecting the gun at the feeder. Verify that the drive rolls, liner, and contact tip are matched to the wire diameter in use before initiating an arc. Inspect the conductor tube, strain relief springs, and cable jacket for wear at regular service intervals.
