The TWECO 1047-1002 is an air-cooled MIG welding gun rated at 400 amps with a 60% duty cycle when used with CO2 shielding gas. It accepts wire diameters from 0.035 to 0.045 inches and comes with a 15-foot power cable. The conductor tube features three-layer construction: a copper inner tube, silicon-resin glass insulator, and metal outer jacket. A standard 60-degree conductor tube swivels 360 degrees around the handle, allowing quick repositioning without removing the conduit. The gun connects to wire feeders via a fully insulated Mig-Kwik rear connection and uses a Tweco-style rear fitting for straightforward integration into existing setups. It is installed by MIG welding operators in light-to-medium duty fabrication environments.
The TWECO 1047-1002 is suited for light and medium duty fabrication across a wide range of work settings, including farm shops, garages, production environments, maintenance and repair operations, and artistic metalworking. The oval handle reduces operator fatigue during extended use. Front and rear spring strain relief protects the cable at both connection points. The split-half handle case allows field repair access without additional connectors, making it a practical choice for operators who need to minimize downtime in a shop or field environment.
Designed for use with wire feeders that accept a Tweco-style rear connection. Compatible with wire diameters from 0.035 to 0.045 inches. Accepts the full range of standard Tweco front-end consumables including contact tips, nozzles, and liners.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding technician or experienced operator familiar with MIG welding equipment. Disconnect and de-energize the wire feeder and welding power source before making or breaking any cable connections. Verify that the shielding gas supply is shut off before servicing the gun or replacing front-end consumables. Follow the wire feeder and power source manufacturers guidelines for amperage capacity and duty cycle to avoid overheating the cable assembly.
