The TWECO 1046-1128 is a fume extraction MIG gun rated at 450 amps with a 60% duty cycle, designed for medium to heavy-duty MIG welding applications. The gun comes with a 15-foot cable and a Miller-compatible rear connector. It incorporates a built-in smoke extraction system that removes up to 90% of fumes from the welding zone, drawing surrounding air over the front-end consumables and conductor tube to assist with cooling. The outer jacket is leather construction, providing resistance to weld spatter and abrasion. A 1-3/8 inch inside diameter PVC-reinforced vacuum hose runs the length of the gun body.
This MIG gun is suited for demanding industrial environments including shipyards, offshore fabrication yards, steel manufacturing, automotive assembly, and general industrial fabrication. The 450-amp rating and robust construction make it appropriate for sustained production welding on heavier base metals. The Miller rear connector makes it a direct-fit replacement or upgrade for Miller-compatible wire feed systems. The duty cycle rating is based on CO2 shielding gas. Standard conductor tube is part number S64-60 (stock number 1046-2258) on guns up to 15 feet. The conduit liner is 44 Series.
Configured with a Miller rear connector, making it compatible with Miller wire feed systems. Standard conductor tube is part number S64-60 (stock number 1046-2258) for guns up to 15 feet. Uses 44 Series conduit liner.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding technician or certified welder familiar with MIG gun assembly and wire feed systems. Before connecting or servicing the gun, ensure the wire feeder is powered down and the shielding gas supply is closed. When routing the gun cable, avoid sharp bends that could restrict liner movement or damage the vacuum hose. The fume extraction system requires connection to a compatible vacuum source; verify extraction system capacity before operation.
