The TWECO 1044-1133 is a water-cooled MIG welding gun rated at 550 amps at 100% duty cycle with CO2 shielding gas, and 500 amps at 100% duty cycle with mixed gas. Built on the Fusion Pro 9W platform, this gun is engineered for high-heat, continuous-production welding where gas-cooled guns fall short. The 15-foot cable length gives welders room to work across large fixtures and workpieces. Advanced dual cooling channels in the conductor tube dissipate heat rapidly, extending the service life of front-end consumables up to five times longer compared to standard gas-cooled MIG guns. Licensed welding professionals and fabrication shops running Miller wire feeders are the primary installers and users of this equipment.
The 1044-1133 is designed for heavy-duty fabrication environments where heat buildup and consumable wear are primary concerns. Typical applications include shipbuilding and offshore yard work, tank and vessel fabrication, general manufacturing, automotive body fabrication, and aerospace structural work. The ergonomic handle design reduces welder fatigue during long production runs. The thick conductor tube adds mechanical durability, reducing damage risk from accidental drops. Wire diameter compatibility spans 0.035 inches to 1/16 inches, covering the most common solid and flux-core wire sizes used in structural and heavy fabrication.
The 1044-1133 is compatible with Miller wire feeders and is designed to adapt with most competitive wire feeder platforms. Wire diameter compatibility covers 0.035 inches to 1/16 inches.
Installation and service should be performed by a qualified welding equipment technician or certified welder-fabricator familiar with water-cooled gun systems. Shut down the welding power source and relieve water coolant pressure before connecting or disconnecting the gun. Verify coolant flow rate and inlet/outlet connections before initiating a weld cycle, as insufficient coolant flow will damage the conductor tube and void the gun's thermal rating. Refer to applicable ANSI Z49.1 safety standards for welding equipment handling and workspace requirements.
