The TWECO 1044-1132 is a water-cooled MIG welding gun engineered for sustained high-amperage output in demanding fabrication environments. Rated at 550 amps at 100% duty cycle with CO2 shielding gas, it delivers consistent performance without the thermal fatigue that limits air-cooled guns. The conductor tube features dual cooling channels that accelerate heat dissipation, extending the service life of front-end wear parts by up to five times compared to gas-cooled alternatives. At 12 feet in cable length, the gun accommodates a wide range of work positions and is compatible with wire diameters from 0.035 inches up to 1/16 inches. Licensed HVAC techs and fabricators in heavy-duty production settings are the primary installers.
This gun is well suited for high-heat, continuous-production welding operations including shipbuilding and offshore yard work, tank and vessel fabrication, general manufacturing, automotive body work, and aerospace fabrication. Its ergonomic handle design reduces operator fatigue during extended run times. The liner and drive geometry support consistent wire feedability, including reliable feeding of softer wire alloys that are prone to birdnesting. It is designed to adapt with most competitive wire feeders, reducing the need for proprietary feeder hardware in mixed-equipment shops.
Listed as compatible with Miller wire feeder connections. Accepts standard contact tips and gas nozzle consumables in M6, M8, and M10 thread sizes. Verify feeder adapter requirements before installation.
Installation and service should be performed by a qualified welding equipment technician or certified welder-fabricator. Disconnect and de-energize the wire feeder and welding power source before connecting or removing the gun. Ensure the water-cooling supply and return lines are properly connected and free of leaks before initiating a weld. Follow the wire feeder and power source manufacturer guidelines for gun adapter torque and liner installation procedures.
