The TWECO 1044-1130 is a water-cooled MIG welding gun designed for high-amperage, continuous-duty welding operations where air-cooled guns fall short. Rated at 450 amps at 100% duty cycle with mixed gas and 500 amps at 100% duty cycle with CO2, this gun delivers sustained output without thermal shutdowns. The conductor tube integrates advanced cooling channels that dissipate heat up to five times faster than gas-cooled designs, extending the service life of front-end consumables including contact tips, nozzles, and liners. The 15-foot cable gives the operator working distance in heavy fabrication environments. Licensed welding professionals and fabrication shop welders are the primary installers and users of this equipment.
The 1044-1130 is built for heavy-duty fabrication environments where heat input is high and arc-on time is extended. Typical applications include shipbuilding and offshore yard fabrication, pressure vessel and tank construction, general manufacturing, automotive body fabrication, and aerospace component welding. The ergonomic handle reduces operator fatigue during long weld sequences. The gun accepts wire diameters from 0.035 inches through 1/16 inches, covering the most common solid and flux-cored wire sizes used in structural and industrial MIG welding. It is designed for use with Miller wire feeder systems.
Designed for use with Miller wire feeder systems. Accepts wire diameters from 0.035 inches through 1/16 inches. Consult the accessories list for compatible contact tips, tip holders, gas nozzles, and liners specific to this gun body.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding technician or certified welder familiar with water-cooled MIG gun systems. Before connecting or disconnecting the gun, shut off the wire feeder power, close the shielding gas supply, and shut off the coolant flow at the water cooler unit. Verify that coolant inlet and outlet connections are secure and leak-free before energizing the system, as coolant leaks near live electrical connections are a serious hazard. Inspect the conductor tube, cable, and all connections for wear or damage before each use.
