The TWECO 1044-1127 is a water-cooled MIG gun built for high-amperage, continuous-duty welding operations. Rated at 550 amps at 100% duty cycle with CO2 shielding gas and 500 amps with mixed gas, this gun is designed to handle sustained heat loads where air-cooled guns fall short. The 15-foot cable length gives welders working room on large assemblies and fixtures. Advanced cooling channels run through the conductor tube, accelerating heat dissipation and extending front-end consumable life up to five times longer than comparable gas-cooled guns. The ergonomic handle reduces fatigue during extended use. Licensed welders and fabricators performing heavy-duty work install and operate this gun.
The 1044-1127 is suited for demanding industrial environments including shipyards, offshore platforms, tank and vessel fabrication shops, general manufacturing facilities, automotive body production, and aerospace fabrication. It accepts wire diameters from 0.035 inches up to 1/16 inch and is designed to feed consistently even with soft wire alloys. The thick conductor tube provides added durability against accidental contact and drops on the shop floor.
Designed for heavy-duty MIG welding applications in industrial and fabrication settings. Adapts with most competitive wire feeders. Consult TWECO documentation to confirm feeder and liner compatibility before installation.
Water-cooled MIG guns must be connected to a compatible water cooling system before operation — never run the gun dry. A qualified welding technician should install the gun, confirm all water line connections are leak-free, and verify the feeder drive roll setup matches the wire diameter in use. Power down the welding system completely before changing consumables or making connections. Follow the equipment manufacturer's guidelines and applicable workplace safety codes during setup and service.
