The TWECO 1044-1126 is a water-cooled MIG welding gun in the Fusion Pro 9W series, designed for high-amperage continuous welding in demanding industrial environments. Rated at 550 amps at 100 percent duty cycle with CO2 shielding gas and 500 amps at 100 percent duty cycle with mixed gas, this gun delivers sustained output without thermal shutdown. The 12-foot cable length provides reach across larger workpieces and fixtures. Advanced dual cooling channels in the conductor tube accelerate heat dissipation, extending front-end consumable life up to five times longer compared to standard gas-cooled guns. Licensed welding professionals and heavy fabrication shops are the primary installers and operators.
The 1044-1126 is built for heavy-duty fabrication applications including shipbuilding, offshore yard work, tank and vessel fabrication, general manufacturing, automotive body work, and aerospace component welding. The ergonomic handle reduces operator fatigue during extended passes. The thick conductor tube adds mechanical durability and reduces the risk of damage from accidental drops. Wire diameter compatibility spans 0.035 inches to 1/16 inch, covering a broad range of solid and flux-cored wire selections. The gun adapts to most competitive wire feeder platforms, making it a practical retrofit choice on existing weld cells.
Designed as a water-cooled OEM-style MIG gun for heavy-duty fabrication welding systems. Compatible with most competitive wire feeder platforms. Accepts the Fusion Pro 9W series contact tips, gas nozzles, and front-end consumables listed in manufacturer accessory documentation.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding technician familiar with water-cooled MIG gun systems. Disconnect and de-energize the welding power source and shut off the water-cooling supply before connecting or servicing the gun. Verify that the water inlet and outlet connections are leak-free and that flow rate meets the manufacturer minimum before energizing. Consult applicable facility safety codes and the wire feeder manufacturer guidelines for proper cable routing and strain relief.
