The TWECO 1044-1123 is a water-cooled MIG gun built for high-heat, high-duty-cycle welding operations. Part of the Fusion Pro 7W series, it is rated at 450 amps at 100% duty cycle with mixed gas and 500 amps at 100% duty cycle with CO2. The 12-foot cable length gives welders reach across larger work envelopes without repositioning. Advanced cooling channels in the conductor tube accelerate heat dissipation, extending the service life of front-end consumables significantly compared to gas-cooled guns. A thick conductor tube reduces the risk of damage from accidental drops. Licensed welding technicians and heavy fabrication shops install and operate this gun.
The 1044-1123 is designed for demanding industrial environments where sustained high-amperage output is required. Suitable wire diameter range spans 0.035 inches to 0.0625 inches, covering common solid and flux-cored wire sizes used in production settings. Typical applications include ship and offshore yard construction, tank and pressure vessel fabrication, general manufacturing, automotive body fabrication, and aerospace structural work. The ergonomic handle design reduces operator fatigue during extended welding sessions, and the gun adapts with most competitive wire feeders, simplifying integration into existing weld cells.
Designed for use in heavy-duty MIG welding systems where water-cooled guns are specified. Adapts with most competitive wire feeders. Refer to the Fusion Pro 7W accessories list for compatible contact tips, contact tip holders, gas nozzles, and insulating washers.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding technician familiar with water-cooled MIG gun systems. Ensure the welding power source and wire feeder are fully powered down before connecting or disconnecting the gun. Verify that the water cooling lines are properly connected and the cooling system is operational before initiating any weld to prevent damage to the conductor tube and consumables. Follow the equipment manufacturer guidelines and applicable facility safety codes during setup and service.
