The TWECO 1040-1128 is a Professional No. 4 Classic Series MIG gun rated at 400 amps with a 25-foot lead cable and Miller-style rear connection. Air-cooled and built for semi-automatic welding, it accommodates wire sizes from 0.045 inches to 1/16 inches and operates at a 60% duty cycle with CO2 gas. The oval-shaped handle is molded from high-impact crush-resistant plastic and is balanced to pivot at the center, reducing operator fatigue during extended use. A 60-degree metal jacket conductor tube with full 360-degree swivel and three-layer construction — copper tube, silicon-resin glass insulator, and metal jacket — delivers a reliable current path from handle to contact tip. Licensed welding professionals and fabricators typically install and service this gun.
The 1040-1128 is suited for medium- and heavy-duty fabrication environments including production shops, maintenance and repair operations, and industrial manufacturing. The fully insulated Mig-Kwik connection enables fast attachment and detachment at the wire feeder, minimizing downtime during consumable changes or equipment swaps. Front-end consumables are interchangeable with the Tweco Spray Master series, which helps reduce inventory. The steel spring strain relief supports the Cablehoz at the rear of the handle to reduce wire feed issues across varying positions and orientations.
Front-end consumables are interchangeable with the Tweco Spray Master series and Tweco Professional No. series. Rear connection is Miller style. Designed for semi-automatic MIG welding setups in medium- to heavy-duty fabrication applications.
Installation and service should be performed by a qualified welding technician or electrician familiar with MIG equipment. Disconnect and power down the wire feeder and welding power source before attaching or removing the gun. Verify that the rear connection style matches the wire feeder before making the Mig-Kwik connection. Inspect the conductor tube, Cablehoz, and contact tip for wear or damage at each service interval.
