The TWECO 1040-1104 is a Professional No. 4 Classic Series air-cooled MIG gun rated at 400 amps with a 60% duty cycle when used with CO2 shielding gas. It accepts wire sizes from 0.035 to 0.045 inches and ships with a 20-foot lead cable featuring a Tweco-style rear connection and a fully insulated Mig-Kwik connector for quick attachment and detachment at the wire feeder. The gun is designed for semi-automatic MIG welding in medium to heavy-duty fabrication environments. Licensed welders and industrial fabricators handling production, maintenance, and repair work will find it suited to sustained, high-output operation. The three-layer conductor tube construction — copper tube, silicon-resin glass insulator, and metal jacket — supports both durability and consistent current delivery.
This gun is built for medium and heavy-duty fabrication shops, production welding lines, farm and fleet maintenance, and general industrial shop work. The 60-degree metal jacket conductor tube swivels a full 360 degrees around the handle, which helps when repositioning in tight or awkward weld joints. The oval-shaped handle is balanced to pivot at its center, reducing grip effort and operator fatigue during longer run times. The split-half handle case allows field repair without additional connectors, making it practical for environments where downtime costs matter. Front-end consumables are interchangeable with the Tweco Spray Master series, which lowers inventory requirements when both gun types are in service.
Front-end consumables are interchangeable with the Tweco Spray Master series and Tweco Professional No. Series guns. Designed for use with standard Tweco-style wire feeders via the Mig-Kwik rear connection.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welder or welding technician familiar with MIG equipment. Power down and disconnect the wire feeder before attaching or removing the gun at the feeder connection. Verify that the contact tip size matches the wire diameter in use before initiating an arc. Inspect the Cablehoz, conductor tube, and strain relief periodically for wear, especially in high-cycle production environments.
