The TWECO 1031-1638 is a 350-amp flux-cored gasless MIG gun designed for use exclusively with gasless (self-shielded) flux-cored wires. It accepts wire in the 0.030 to 0.035 inch range and is built for continuous heavy-duty welding service. The gun features a replaceable conduit, four trigger lead wires stored in the cable housing, and a micro-switch trigger design that provides reliable start and stop wire feed control. The power cable is constructed for proven abrasion and heat resistance. This gun is installed and serviced by professional welders and fabricators working in high-demand industrial environments.
The 1031-1638 is suited for applications in shipbuilding and offshore fabrication yards, steel industry fabrication, general industrial manufacturing, automotive repair, and maintenance and repair operations. Its heavy-duty front-end consumables are interchangeable with other leading flux-cored guns, making it a practical drop-in option for shops already stocking standard consumables. The one-piece handle allows the trigger to be positioned at the top or bottom to suit operator preference. This gun is rated at 60 percent duty cycle when used with CO2 gas.
Designed for use with all gasless self-shielded flux-cored wires in the 0.030 to 0.035 inch diameter range. Front-end consumables are interchangeable with other leading flux-cored MIG guns.
Installation and replacement of MIG guns should be performed by a qualified welder or welding equipment technician. Disconnect and de-energize the welding power source before connecting or disconnecting the gun. Verify that the liner, contact tip, and drive roll configuration are matched to the wire diameter in use before initiating a weld. Follow applicable ANSI and AWS safety standards for welding equipment installation and operation.
