The TWECO 1027-1031 is an air-cooled MIG welding gun rated for 250 amps with a 12-foot cable, designed for wire diameters up to 0.045 inches. It operates at a 60% duty cycle with CO2 gas, making it a capable choice for sustained production welding and heavy maintenance work. The gun features a three-layer conductor tube construction consisting of a copper tube, silicon-resin glass insulator, and a metal jacket, providing reliable heat dissipation and electrical isolation. A fully insulated Mig-Kwik connection allows the operator to connect or disconnect at the wire feeder without tools. A Miller style rear connection is included for compatibility with common wire feed systems. Licensed welders and industrial MIG technicians are the primary installers.
This gun is suited for a wide range of applications including farm repair, garage and shop fabrication, artistic metalworking, maintenance and repair, and light production welding. The oval handle is designed to reduce operator fatigue during extended use. The 60-degree metal-jacketed conductor tube swivels 360 degrees around the handle and can be rapidly removed and replaced without removing the conduit, which reduces downtime in field and shop settings. Front and rear spring strain relief protects the cable at both connection points, extending service life in demanding environments.
Designed for use with Miller style rear connection wire feeders. Accepts standard front-end consumables compatible with the TWECO Weldskill platform.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welder or MIG welding technician familiar with wire feed equipment. Power down and de-energize the wire feeder before connecting or disconnecting the gun at the feeder connection. Inspect the cable, strain reliefs, and conductor tube for wear or damage before each use. Follow all applicable AWS safety standards and local electrical codes when operating MIG welding equipment.
