The TWECO 1023-1102 is an air-cooled MIG welding gun rated at 250 amps and designed for spray transfer and pulse welding applications. It accepts wire diameters from 0.035 to 0.045 inches and comes with a 15-foot cable. The gun features a thick-walled, three-layer conductor tube that improves electrical conductivity and acts as a heat sink, extending service intervals. An 80 percent duty cycle rating with argon and CO2 mixed gases makes it a reliable choice for sustained production welding. The ergonomic, compact handle is balanced to pivot at its center, reducing operator fatigue during extended use. Field repairs are simplified by a split-half handle case and mechanical cable connections.
This MIG gun suits a wide range of welding environments including production shops, maintenance and repair operations, farm settings, garages, and fabrication work. The standard 60-degree conductor tube swivels 360 degrees around the handle and can be removed and replaced without pulling the conduit. A simplified direct rear plug and fully insulated Mig-Kwik rear Tweco connection allow fast connect and disconnect at the wire feeder, reducing setup time between jobs. Interchangeable front-end consumables are compatible with Tweco Classic No. Series guns, which helps reduce inventory overhead for shops running multiple gun types.
Front-end consumables on the 1023-1102 are interchangeable with Tweco Classic No. Series MIG guns. The gun uses a rear Tweco connection for direct plug-in to compatible wire feeders equipped with a standard Tweco-style receptacle.
Installation and servicing of MIG welding guns should be performed by a qualified welding technician or electrician familiar with applicable codes. Disconnect power to the wire feeder and verify the machine is de-energized before connecting or removing the gun. Ensure the Mig-Kwik rear connection is fully seated and locked before initiating a weld. Follow shielding gas line connection procedures per the equipment manufacturer and applicable workplace safety standards.
