The TUNGALOY 6853027 is a TNMG432 T5125 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for general-purpose metal removal on cast iron workpieces. It features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert has a 60-degree triangular shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0315-inch corner radius, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.2362 inches. Cutting edges are chamfered and honed for consistent edge integrity. Six usable cutting edges are available per insert, making this a cost-effective choice for production turning operations.

This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on cast iron at the K15 and K30 material grades. It fits standard TNMG-style toolholders using clamp or pin holding methods. Typical applications include CNC lathe and manual lathe work in job shop and production environments where cast iron components require reliable, repeatable surface finishes and dimensional control.
