The TUNGALOY 6852460 is a solid carbide turning insert in the SPMT090308-24 geometry, manufactured in grade AH120 with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating. The square insert profile (90-degree included angle) provides four usable cutting edges, and the positive rake angle of 6 degrees reduces cutting forces on the workpiece. With a 0.0315-inch corner radius and a honed cutting edge style, this insert balances edge strength with surface finish quality. It is designed for screw-clamped toolholders and is suited for general turning, facing, and boring operations on a lathe or machining center.

This insert is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts.
