The TUNGALOY 6818856 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit from the GigaJetDrill series, designed for high-performance holemaking in demanding production environments. It features a 9.1 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree point angle for accurate self-centering entry, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and toolholders. Coolant-through capability supports effective chip evacuation and heat control at the cutting zone. This bit is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC machining centers and drill presses.
This drill bit is engineered for use on a broad range of workpiece materials including alloy steel, aluminum alloy, heat-resistant alloys, and titanium alloy. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 76 mm, making it well suited for medium-depth hole applications in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking production. The two-flute spiral geometry promotes consistent chip flow throughout the cut. Material grades P20-P35, M20-M35, and K15-K30 reflect the ISO classification range this tool is designed to handle.
Designed for use in workpiece materials including alloy steel, aluminum alloy, heat-resistant alloy, and titanium alloy per ISO material grades P20-P35, M20-M35, and K15-K30. Straight-cylindrical 10 mm shank fits standard drill chucks and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders accepting that shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle at a full stop and machine power locked out per facility safety procedures. Verify toolholder runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates wear on solid carbide tooling. Coolant-through connections should be confirmed at the spindle interface before starting the cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for recommended cutting parameters for the specific workpiece material.
