The TUNGALOY 6806765 is a solid carbide turning insert designated SNMG432SA in grade AH120, featuring a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) TiAlN coating for elevated hot hardness and wear resistance. The insert follows a square (S) geometry with a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake angle of -18 degrees, and a honed cutting edge for controlled edge strength. With an inscribed circle of 0.5 inches, an insert length of 0.5 inches, a thickness of 0.1875 inches, and a corner radius of 0.0315 inches, it is sized for general turning operations on a wide range of CNC and manual lathes. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp to avoid micro-movement under cutting load. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, burrs, or wear before installing a fresh edge, as debris under the insert will alter seating and affect surface finish.
