The TUNGALOY 6772380 is a WNMG 432 TS indexable turning insert in grade T9215, designed for general-purpose metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a multilayer CVD coating stack of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN over a solid carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability across a wide range of cutting conditions. The insert carries a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake angle of -10 degrees, and a honed cutting edge style. With six usable cutting edges per insert, it offers strong value per unit in production turning environments. Licensed HVAC installers and machinists running steel, stainless steel, or cast iron workpieces will find this insert well-suited to medium-duty continuous and interrupted cuts.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, covering ISO material codes P, M, and K. It fits within the WNMG-TS series and is sized to the industry-standard WNMG 432 designation, making it compatible with any toolholder rated for WNMG 432 geometry. Material grades P10 and P20 are the target application range. The TS chip breaker geometry controls chip flow effectively during finishing and semi-finishing passes, making it a practical choice for shops running mixed-material job work or dedicated steel turning cells.
Designed for use in any WNMG 432 toolholder accepting clamp or pin clamping. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO P, M, K). Suitable for turning, facing, and boring applications within material grades P10 and P20.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing the insert. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket seat and apply clamping force evenly per the toolholder manufacturer torque specification. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker geometry before resuming cutting to confirm correct orientation and seating.
