The TUNDRA PF12058T2TU0 is a closed-cell polyolefin pipe insulation elbow fitting designed for 1-inch copper pipe with a 1/2-inch wall thickness. It provides thermal insulation at 90-degree directional changes in piping runs where standard straight insulation sleeves cannot follow the bend. The closed-cell construction resists moisture absorption and maintains its insulating value over time. It will not rot, disintegrate, or support mold growth. Installers use this fitting alongside matching straight sections to achieve a continuous insulated system through elbows and direction changes on refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing lines.
This elbow insulation fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications including cold and hot water supply lines, refrigeration suction lines, and air conditioning line sets. It is also appropriate for chilled water piping and other systems where condensation control or freeze protection is required. The self-sealing design simplifies installation at elbow joints, reducing the need for additional adhesive tape at the fitting transition point. It is sold individually and is intended to pair with matching straight insulation runs of the same wall thickness and pipe size.
Designed for use on 1-inch copper pipe as an OEM-style insulation elbow fitting for cold and hot water systems, refrigeration lines, and air conditioning applications requiring a 1/2-inch wall insulation thickness at directional changes.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics. Shut down the system and allow lines to return to ambient temperature before fitting insulation to ensure a clean, dry surface for the self-sealing adhesive. Align the elbow fitting with the pipe bend and press the seam firmly closed along the full length of the joint. Refer to local mechanical codes for requirements on insulation continuity and vapor barrier integrity at fittings.
