The TRU-MAXX TUAAFCC20U is a rectangular silicon carbide dressing stick used to true, dress, and open the face of grinding wheels. At 20 grit, it is an aggressive-cutting abrasive suited for removing loading, glazing, and out-of-round conditions from conventional abrasive wheels. The vitrified bond provides a rigid, porous structure that holds grain securely while allowing the stick to break down predictably across the wheel face. Measuring 6 x 1 x 1 inches, the stick offers sufficient length for controlled hand dressing passes on bench grinders and surface grinders. Machinists, tool grinders, and maintenance technicians use this type of stick as a routine consumable during wheel conditioning.
This dressing stick is appropriate for use in machine shops, production grinding operations, and general maintenance environments where grinding wheel performance needs to be restored between jobs. The 20-grit silicon carbide construction makes it well suited for dressing aluminum oxide wheels used on ferrous metals as well as softer bonded wheels where aggressive stock removal during dressing is required. The rectangular profile allows consistent flat contact across the wheel width during the dressing pass.
Designed as an OEM-style dressing stick for use with conventional abrasive grinding wheels requiring periodic truing or face conditioning in bench grinder and surface grinder applications.
Always power down and bring the grinding wheel to a complete stop before inspection, then restart the machine and apply the dressing stick with the wheel spinning at operating speed using steady, controlled contact. Secure the workpiece or dressing stick firmly to prevent grab or deflection during the dressing pass. Eye protection and a face shield are required during grinding wheel dressing operations per standard shop safety practice. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before and after dressing.
