The TRU-MAXX TRU-RP205H is a hard-density disc backing pad designed for use with Quick-Change Type P abrasive discs. It accepts a 5/16-24 left-hand thread and mounts via a 1/4-inch shank, making it compatible with standard die grinders and right-angle grinders used in metalworking and fabrication. Rated to a maximum of 30,000 RPM, this backing pad provides a rigid support surface that maintains consistent abrasive contact during grinding, blending, and surface preparation tasks. The 2-inch pad diameter suits tight-clearance work and detail grinding where larger pads are impractical. Installation and removal of Quick-Lok discs is fast, keeping downtime between disc changes minimal on the shop floor or job site.
This backing pad is suited for metal fabrication, weld blending, deburring, and surface conditioning applications in both shop and field environments. It is typically used by machinists, pipefitters, ironworkers, and maintenance technicians who require rapid disc changes without sacrificing pad stability at high rotational speeds. The hard density backing provides firm, controlled abrasive pressure appropriate for flat and near-flat workpiece surfaces. The left-hand thread design is standard for grinder spindle applications, preventing the pad from loosening under normal rotational load.
Designed for use with Quick-Lok Quick-Change Type P abrasive discs. Fits grinders and die grinders equipped with a 1/4-inch collet and a standard left-hand spindle thread accepting a 5/16-24 thread size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with angle grinder and die grinder tooling. Ensure the grinder is fully powered down and unplugged or air supply disconnected before mounting or removing the backing pad. Thread the pad onto the spindle by hand and verify it is fully seated before operating. Never exceed the 30,000 RPM maximum speed rating of this pad, and confirm that any mounted abrasive disc carries an equal or higher RPM rating before use.
