The TRU-MAXX SZMFW380 is a mounted flap wheel designed for surface blending, deburring, and light material removal on metal, wood, and composite workpieces. It uses aluminum oxide abrasive in a coated construction at 80 grit, placing it in the medium grade range suited for moderate stock removal and edge refinement. The 1/4 inch shank mounts directly into a die grinder, drill press, or rotary tool. With a maximum operating speed of 30,000 RPM, it handles high-speed rotary applications where consistent finish and flexible abrasive contact are required. Machinists, fabricators, and tool and die technicians are the typical users for this style of abrasive accessory.
This mounted flap wheel is used in metalworking and fabrication environments where access to tight contours, bores, slots, and irregular surfaces is needed. It performs well on inside diameters, weld seam blending, and surface prep work before finishing or coating. At 1-1/2 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch face width, it fits confined work areas that larger grinding wheels cannot reach. Typical applications include deburring cast parts, smoothing welded joints, and preparing metal surfaces for inspection or further finishing operations.
Designed for use with die grinders, rotary tools, and drill presses equipped with a 1/4 inch collet or chuck capable of operating at or below 30,000 RPM.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians familiar with rotary abrasive tooling. Before mounting, verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM maximum rating of the wheel. Secure the 1/4 inch shank firmly in the collet and confirm the locking mechanism is fully engaged before operation. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable ANSI abrasive safety standards when using mounted abrasive accessories.
