The TRU-MAXX RESIN-56 is a Type 12A2 cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheel designed for precision tool grinding and sharpening applications. Built with a resinoid bond and a fine 120-grit CBN abrasive layer, this wheel delivers consistent stock removal on hardened steels, carbide-tipped tools, and high-speed steel cutting edges. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter with an overall thickness of approximately 25 millimeters and a superabrasive depth of 1/16 inch. A 1.25-inch arbor hole provides secure mounting on standard bench grinders and surface grinders. Weighing 1 pound, it is compatible with both wet and dry operation, giving the operator flexibility based on the machining environment and material requirements.
This CBN wheel is suited for tool and cutter grinding in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial settings where repeatable edge geometry on hardened tool steel or HSS is critical. The fine 120-grit rating makes it appropriate for finish grinding passes and light material removal rather than aggressive stock hogging. Machinists, tool grinders, and maintenance technicians working on drill bits, end mills, lathe tools, and similar cutting tools will find this wheel appropriate for their finishing and sharpening operations. It supports both wet and dry grinding setups, allowing use with or without coolant depending on shop practice and the workpiece material.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit grinding wheel for bench grinders and tool and cutter grinders accepting a 6-inch diameter wheel with a 1.25-inch arbor hole.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B7.1 standards. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test as required by applicable safety standards. Never exceed the maximum RPM rating marked on the wheel, and ensure the machine spindle speed is within the rated range before operation.
