The TRU-MAXX FDT A016-180 is a 7-inch coated fiber disc designed for aggressive stock removal on metal, weld seams, and other hard surfaces. The abrasive is aluminum oxide bonded to a fiber backing with a resinoid bond system, producing a disc rated for up to 8,500 RPM. At 16 grit, this falls in the very coarse grade range, making it suited for rapid material removal rather than finishing work. The 7/8-inch arbor hole attaches directly to a standard right-angle grinder backup pad. Each disc weighs approximately 0.22 pounds. Licensed trades and fabrication shops rely on this disc where fast, controlled grinding is required on structural steel, plate, and welded assemblies.

This disc is used in metal fabrication, structural steel work, pipe preparation, and weld cleanup applications. Its very coarse 16-grit cut rate makes it appropriate for leveling high weld beads, removing mill scale, and deburring thick stock. Installation Notes
