The TRU-MAXX 88543 is a carbon steel stringer bead wheel brush designed for aggressive surface preparation, weld cleaning, and deburring on metal workpieces. The brush mounts via a 5/8-11 arbor hole and operates at speeds up to 20,000 RPM, making it suitable for use with angle grinders and bench grinders in fabrication and maintenance environments. The 4-inch outside diameter paired with a 1/4-inch face width concentrates wire contact on narrow surfaces such as weld beads, tight joints, and grooves. Carbon steel fill material provides the durability and bite required for ferrous metal applications. Installation and operation are handled by metal fabricators, welders, pipefitters, and general maintenance trades.
The 88543 is used in industrial and commercial fabrication shops, structural steel work, pipe welding, and general metalworking maintenance. The stringer bead twist wire knot configuration focuses wire contact into a tight, aggressive pattern that effectively cleans flux residue, mill scale, rust, and surface contaminants from welds and base metal. The 7/8-inch trim length provides flex while maintaining consistent contact pressure. It is well suited for production environments where weld pass cleaning between multi-pass welds is required, as well as general surface conditioning on carbon steel and iron.
Designed for use with angle grinders and bench grinders accepting a 5/8-11 arbor hole mount. Suitable for carbon steel and ferrous metal surface preparation applications.
This brush is installed and operated by welders, fabricators, and maintenance mechanics using angle grinders or bench grinders with a compatible 5/8-11 arbor. Always confirm the tool spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the brush maximum RPM before mounting. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating wire brushes at speed. Inspect the brush for damaged or broken wire fill before each use and replace if wear or deformation is present.
