The TRU-MAXX 7288 is a coated abrasive belt designed for dry belt sanding applications on stationary and portable belt sanders. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive on a polyester cloth backing rated X-weight, it delivers consistent cut and durability across metal, wood, and composite surfaces. At 120 grit, it falls in the fine grade range, making it well-suited for finishing passes, light material removal, and surface prep before coating or painting. The closed coat density means abrasive grain covers the full belt face, providing an aggressive, uniform scratch pattern on each pass.
This belt fits belt sanders that accept a 4 inch wide by 48 inch long belt. It is appropriate for use in fabrication shops, metal finishing operations, woodworking benches, and maintenance facilities. Machinists, metal fabricators, woodworkers, and general maintenance trades commonly use this configuration on floor-standing or bench-top belt sanders for deburring, blending welds, and preparing surfaces for finishing work. Dry operation only — this belt is not rated for wet sanding applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement abrasive belt for belt sanders that accept a 4 inch wide by 48 inch long belt configuration.
Installation is performed by maintenance personnel or equipment operators following standard belt sander servicing procedures. Disconnect or power down the sander before replacing the belt, and verify belt tracking alignment before resuming operation. Inspect the platen and idler roller for wear before mounting a new belt. Do not use this belt with water, cutting fluids, or other wet media.
