The TRU-MAXX 7232 is a coated abrasive belt designed for stationary and portable belt sanding applications in metal fabrication, woodworking, and general surface preparation. It measures 3 inches wide by 90 inches long and runs on dry belt sanders. The abrasive material is aluminum oxide at 60 grit, a medium grade suited for moderate stock removal and surface conditioning. A closed-coat density delivers consistent scratch patterns across the workpiece. The polyester cloth backing at X-weight provides flexibility and tensile strength to handle the demands of continuous belt sanding. This belt is a standard choice for fabrication shops, maintenance technicians, and skilled tradespeople who need reliable, repeatable material removal.
The TRU-MAXX 7232 fits belt sanding machines that accept a 3-inch by 90-inch belt. It is commonly used on metal, wood, and composite surfaces for weld blending, deburring, and surface smoothing. The 60-grit medium grade is appropriate for initial shaping passes and intermediate stock removal before finer finishing grits are applied. Dry operation is required; this belt is not rated for wet sanding. It is sold individually and is well-suited for shop environments where belt sanders of this size are standard equipment.
Designed as a replacement abrasive belt for belt sanders and grinders that accept a 3-inch by 90-inch belt in dry-use applications.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified technician or experienced operator with the sanding machine fully powered off and unplugged. Inspect the belt for tears or joint defects before mounting and confirm the arrow on the belt backing aligns with the machine's direction of travel if marked. Ensure belt tension and tracking are adjusted per the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and dust control measures.
