The TRU-MAXX 7159 is a coated abrasive belt designed for dry precision finishing and surface preparation on belt sanders and grinding machines. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive on a polyester cloth backing with an X-weight designation, this belt delivers consistent cut and durability across metal, wood, and composite surfaces. At 240 grit, it falls in the very fine grade range, making it well-suited for final-pass finishing, light material removal, and surface refinement before coating or inspection. The closed coat density ensures maximum abrasive coverage for smooth, uniform scratch patterns. Tradespeople and fabricators working in maintenance, toolroom, and production environments will find this belt a reliable consumable for high-cycle finishing work.
This abrasive belt is intended for use on standard 2-inch wide belt sander platforms with a 60-inch belt path. It is suited for dry operation only and performs well on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardwoods, and painted or primed surfaces during prep work. Typical applications include weld seam blending, edge deburring, and surface finishing prior to anodizing, painting, or plating. Maintenance technicians, metal fabricators, and toolroom operators commonly use this grit level for finish passes where dimensional consistency and surface quality are critical.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement consumable for belt sanders and surface grinding machines that accept 2-inch wide by 60-inch long abrasive belts in dry operation service.
Installation of abrasive belts should be performed by qualified personnel following the machine manufacturer's belt-change procedure. Disconnect and lock out all power to the sander before replacing the belt. Verify belt tracking alignment after installation and run the machine briefly at low load to confirm the belt seats properly on the platens before full production use. Do not use this belt in wet or coolant-flooded applications, as the backing and bond are rated for dry service only.
