The TRU-MAXX 7123 is a coated abrasive belt designed for dry grinding, blending, and finishing operations on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. It measures 1.5 inches wide by 18.9375 inches long and runs at 60 grit, placing it in the medium grade range. The abrasive material is aluminum oxide applied over a polyester cloth backing with a closed coat density. The polyester cloth backing provides dimensional stability and resistance to tearing under sustained belt-sander loads. Machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians reach for medium-grit aluminum oxide belts when removing light stock, smoothing weld seams, or prepping surfaces before finishing.
This belt is suited for bench-top and portable belt sanders in light industrial, maintenance, and fabrication environments. The 1.5 x 18.9375-inch size fits a range of standard belt-sander models that accept this common dimension. Closed coat construction keeps abrasive grain tightly packed, which improves cut rate on metals and hardwoods. Dry-only operation means it should not be used with water-based coolants or cutting fluids.
Designed as a replacement or consumable belt for belt sanders that accept a 1.5-inch wide by 18.9375-inch long abrasive belt in dry-operation applications.
Power down and unplug the belt sander before changing abrasive belts. Confirm belt tracking direction matches the arrow printed on the belt backing before operation. Inspect the platen and drive rollers for wear or debris before mounting a new belt. Follow ANSI B11 machine-safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and a dust mask rated for fine abrasive particulate.
