The TRU-MAXX 7118 is a 1 x 42 inch coated abrasive belt designed for dry belt sander applications in metal fabrication, woodworking, and general finishing work. It uses aluminum oxide abrasive grain in a 180 grit, very fine grade, bonded to a polyester cloth backing with a closed coat density. The X-weight backing provides stiffness and tear resistance under sustained load. At 180 grit, this belt is suited for finish sanding, light stock removal, and surface prep before coating or inspection. Machinists, fabricators, and finishing technicians are the primary users of this consumable.

This belt is used on stationary 1 x 42 inch belt sanders common in metal shops, woodworking benches, and light manufacturing environments. The closed coat aluminum oxide construction makes it effective on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardwoods, and composites. Dry operation only — do not use with cutting fluids or water.
