The TRU-MAXX 7064 is a coated abrasive belt designed for dry grinding, deburring, and surface finishing applications on portable and stationary belt sanders. Measuring 0.5 inches wide by 24 inches long, this belt uses aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded to a closed-coat, X-weight polyester cloth backing. The closed-coat construction delivers consistent cut rates and even scratch patterns. At 60 grit, this is a medium-grade belt suited for stock removal and shaping work where a moderately aggressive cut is needed before moving to finer grits. Metalworking shops, maintenance technicians, and fabricators are the primary users of this belt profile.
This belt is well suited to portable belt sanders commonly used in metal fabrication, weld blending, pipefitting, and general maintenance environments. The 0.5 inch by 24 inch dimension is a standard fit for many compact belt sander models used in trade and light industrial settings. Dry operation only means it is not intended for use with cutting fluids or coolant. The polyester cloth backing with X-weight designation provides the rigidity and durability needed to hold up under sustained contact pressure on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as wood and composites.
Designed as a standard replacement or consumable belt for portable and benchtop belt sanders accepting a 0.5 inch wide by 24 inch long abrasive belt. Verify sander belt size requirements before ordering.
Belt installation should be performed by the equipment operator following the sander manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the sander is powered off and unplugged before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking direction — most belts are directional and the arrow on the backing must align with the direction of travel. Inspect the platen and idler rollers for wear or debris before mounting a new belt.
