The TRU-MAXX 66253292445 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal and finish grinding on ferrous metals and similar materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action and thermal stability under sustained grinding loads. At 120 grit with an L hardness code and medium hardness rating, it falls in the fine grade range, making it well suited for controlled material removal where surface finish quality matters. The vitrified bond structure (specification 23A120L6V31) is non-porous and semi-friable, allowing the wheel to break down gradually for self-sharpening action during use. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum.
This wheel is designed for use on surface grinders in maintenance, tool-and-die, and general metalworking environments. The 7-inch diameter and 1/2-inch thickness fit standard surface grinder spindle setups, while the 1-1/4-inch arbor hole accommodates common machine configurations. The white aluminum oxide grain and vitrified bond combination is a standard choice for grinding hardened steel, tool steel, and other ferrous workpieces where heat control and consistent finish are priorities. Licensed machinists, toolmakers, and skilled tradespeople performing precision grinding operations are the typical end users.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard stock wheel for surface grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel with a 7-inch diameter, 1/2-inch thickness, and 1-1/4-inch arbor hole.
Surface grinding wheels must be installed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for visible cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test to confirm integrity. Never exceed the maximum RPM stamped on the wheel or listed by the manufacturer, and always use appropriate flange hardware and blotters as specified for the machine.
