The TRU-MAXX 66253269801 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel designed for precision material removal on surface grinders. Constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive with a vitrified bond, this wheel operates at a maximum of 3600 RPM and carries a medium-grade, I-hardness rating suited for general-purpose ferrous metal grinding. At 7 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, it fits standard surface grinder spindles commonly found in machine shops and fabrication environments. The non-porous, ruby-colored wheel delivers consistent stock removal and a uniform finish across flat workpiece surfaces.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal-spindle surface grinders in machine shop, toolroom, and industrial fabrication settings. The 60-grit, medium-grade specification makes it appropriate for general stock removal and surface conditioning on steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. It is a single-unit package suitable for job shop technicians, machinists, and maintenance professionals performing routine surface grinding operations.
Designed as a standard Type 1 replacement grinding wheel for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a 7-inch diameter, 1/4-inch thick wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole.
Grinding wheels must be installed and dressed by a qualified machinist or trained shop technician in accordance with applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA abrasive wheel standards. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test — do not install a damaged wheel. Power down and lockout the machine before changing wheels, and verify the spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Always use the correct flanges and blotters when mounting, and allow the wheel to run at operating speed with the guard in place before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
